At What Age Should a Child Start Using Roll on (Deodorant/ Antiperspirant)?
Guess what, your kids will not be kids forever, matter of fact, these days, they grow up so fast.! With growth and development comes bodily changes, which ushers in puberty.
Lately kids start puberty very early, though this may start at different ages, generally girls begin earlier than boys, at about 8 years, whereas boys begin puberty at about 9 years. This is not constant, this can vary
So, to answer your question, the best time to introduce roll on is at puberty!
During puberty, kids undergo physical bodily changes, they grow taller, girls begin to develop breasts, and a young man’s voice may deepen. Then, the big one, this is also when children start growing body hair (arm pit, groin areas). And with this, as underarm hair develops, you may notice a distinct odor coming from your child, same is also applicable from hairs in the groin.
Conventionally, most parents make the mistake of waiting till teenage years to start/ introduce wearing deodorant.
Please, note, some kids develop body odor at a much younger age, with the advent of body hair. So, it is not uncommon for a girl or boy to need deodorant as early as 8, 9, or 10 years old. This is especially important if your kids are active and playful. Also, if you live I hot zones, like Africa.
Some parents may worry that their child is too young for deodorant, but be rest assured, there are some kids’ friendly deodorants out there. And of truth, there’s no specific age for a child to start wearing deodorant.
So, please, the onus and decision is on you, you have to make a decision based on what, you know and the situation with your kids, and what is best for them.
